Smoking Doctors

I chose the advertisement about the doctors who chose camel brand cigarettes.  I found this advertisement quite funny.  First of all, the obvious reason, that doctors smoke.  Most doctors do not smoke because of the health problems associated with smoking.  I am the executive of sales account for four newspapers.  Basically i sell advertisements to a range of businesses.  Working in this business i know how advertisements should be set up.  This Camel ad has a few problems with it.  Advertisements like these should have a ratio to show numbers of doctors who smoke camels.  For example " 9 out 10 doctors choose to smoke camels over other name brand cigarettes.  Another problem with this ad is that there are way to many words.  Good advertisements have lots of colors and pictures to attract reader, which this one does.  People do not want to read a paragraph of what you are selling though.  Camel should have taken out the paragraph and added something else.  Even a short quote from a doctor who smokes camels would have been efficient.

This assignment is to respond to a classmates blog.   To me this means argue with someone.  So Ryan's blog on "jumping the shark".  He seems to think that the television show friends never jumped the shark.  I would have to disagree with this.  In my mind the show probrably jumped the shark from the first episode.  The show has a plot with characters that aren't even funny.  I will give them the benefit of the doubt though.  The show jumped the shark when Chandlier married courty arquette.  This happened around the downfall of the show to bring back viewers.  To me this a last attempt to save the show.
